At the heart of BloodSweaT™ is Hippos in Training (H.i.T.), a program designed to bridge the gap between new coaches and young athletes. Inspired by Stephen’s 20 years of coaching and the symbolic strength of our hippo mascot, H.i.T. emphasizes the importance of building confidence and fundamental skills in baseball and softball. Our resources, from coaching guides to online videos, ensure that volunteer coaches and their teams have the support they need to succeed.

Advocating Against Cruelty and Protecting Rights
Stephen’s personal encounter with injustice came through the misuse of stun cuffs, which caused permanent nerve damage to his hands. This painful experience became a catalyst for change, driving Stephen and BloodSweaT™ to advocate against the unconstitutional use of such devices and raise awareness about human rights violations. Our mission is rooted in protecting the dignity and well-being of individuals, ensuring that no one else has to endure the same suffering.

Protecting Wildlife with a Purpose
Saving Colombia’s Majestic Giants
The story of BloodSweaT™ extends beyond the field and into the heart of environmental conservation. Inspired by Stephen’s firsthand experience in Colombia, where he encountered the ecological crisis of the invasive ‘Cocaine Hippos’ left behind by Pablo Escobar, we launched the Hippo Hop Mission. Our goal? To fund the humane relocation of these hippos to sanctuaries in India and Mexico, ensuring their safety and the protection of local ecosystems. Through partnerships with international and local organizations, BloodSweaT™ is committed to making a tangible impact on wildlife conservation.
These hippos, now numbering around 200, pose challenges to Colombia’s ecosystem. With your support, we can ensure they find safe homes and a future where they can thrive without disrupting local environments.
